Tashbain – the band with a story to tell!

NORTH Pennine storytellers in residence Shonaleigh Cumbers and Lindsay Aitkenhead return to Cumbria this month for a two-week storytelling and music project in schools.

They are bringing with them the spellbinding ensemble Tashbain, who will give two public performances next Saturday.

Tashbain integrate traditional Jewish stories and Klezmer music, transforming them into a vibrant art form.

Humour, hope and humanity reach out to touch the audience as they become part of the performance.

“If you don’t know what Klezmer is, come and find out. If you think that storytelling is just for children, come and have your perceptions blown away,” said Lindsay Aitkenhead.

Tashbain will be performing in Carlisle library next Saturday and at the Heather Glen Hotel, Ainstable, later than evening.
