The Glass Palace of the Moon Maid – Northampton
7pm for 7.30pm
Shonaleigh will be at the Feast of Fools storytelling club in Northampton this February.
Join us to experience the real magic brought by Shonaleigh’s unique storytelling.
The Glass Palace of the Moon-Maid is a magical wonder-tale spanning this world and the beyond, a tale of stars and comets and moons, life and death, love and betrayal, two very magical cats, and the occasional goat. This tale belongs to the Cycle of Hillel, which is the first of twelve epic, latticed, interlinked cycles of stories passed down through generations of Drut’syla storytellers.
Shonaleigh learned her stories during her long apprenticeship to her grandmother, building a series of cycles of stories, each cycle holding around 1000 interlinked stories, all held orally within her family. This alone would make her worth hearing; as it is she brings a presence, passion and love to her telling, which communicate deep into the consciousness of her listeners, allied to a wicked sense of humour – she worked as a Stand-up for a while, after all – so laughter is never far from even the most profound of moments.
She’s the storyteller we’ve invited to return more than any other. If you’ve not heard her, come and find out why. If you have, you’ll know why!
And of course we promise the unique Feast of Fools atmosphere, and the unique home-baked cakes, all in the surroundings of the lovely Quaker Meeting House. 16+ only.
Venue: Quaker Meeting House, Wellington St, Northampton NN1 3AS
