In LunarSea Storytelling’s first online telling, Shonaleigh will give us Moon Tales of Wonder in honour of the full Strawberry Moon.
The Ash is the tree for this month, perfect for the scope of Shonaleigh’s telling. In Germanic tradition, the Ash is named, ‘World Tree’ – its roots reach every continent, its branches span the wide heavens and its leaves give shelter to all humanity. One tree encompasses the universe. As in trees, so in stories; Shonaleigh’s unique knowledge of a whole tradition and its cycle of stories, shines a light on other traditions that have been lost.
These precious stories are part of the wonderful Jewish women’s oral tradition, which was passed on to her by her grandmother and drut’syla Edith Marks. This will be a fascinating event for all those who love story and want to know more about women’s oral tradition.
