Taking the Tradition On: The Wounded Warrior – online talk
8-9pm UK time (GMT)
Shonaleigh joins Amy Douglas for a live discussion as part of the Taking the Tradition: a series of intimate, informal conversations with eminent professional storytellers.
They will discuss the tragic archetype of the ‘The Wounded Warrior’, a figure that sacrifices themselves for the greater good.
The Wounded Warrior fights to protect what they hold most dear and lose themselves in the process. They fight for a world in which they have no place. The Wounded Warrior is a troubled soul – both hero and monster – a man who fights for peace.
Shonaleigh is one of Europe’s leading storytellers. Having learned the Drut’syla tradition from the age of four, she carries thousands of oral stories from the Jewish tradition and shares their magic, mystery and wisdom with audiences around the world.
Join Amy and Shonaleigh for an hour of discussion and reflection as they explore the archetype of the wounded warrior on Remembrance Day.
Join live on Zoom on Remembrance Day, the 11th November, at 8pm. Here’s the link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83440627019?pwd=pCtIfuZLKZFfvSuA1baWOVjapZajZm.1
